Broomfield’s beloved free Summer Sunday Festival series closes out its 2026 season at the charming Brunner Farmhouse with the Colorado Junction String Band — a standout Americana act blending bluegrass, folk, and soulful mountain energy that’s become a fan favorite across the Front Range. Arrive early for interactive booths, local food trucks, and mini-performances from 4:00–6:00 PM before the main concert kicks off at 6:00 PM. Admission is free; a $5 donation to support the arts is warmly welcomed.

Broomfield Share Fair 🎓

The Broomfield Share Fair is a community-spirited swap and sharing event where neighbors connect, trade skills and resources, and celebrate the idea that what we share together is better than what any of us has alone. It’s a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, discover local organizations, and pick up something useful while passing along what you no longer need. A genuinely unique Broomfield tradition that reflects the character of this community.

Westminster History Tour: The Prairie Potluck (1876) 🌿

This richly immersive guided tour travels back to 1876, when settlers transformed the open prairie into orchards, farms, and cattle ranches that laid the foundation of Westminster’s early community life. Pairing historic stops with hands-on food and tradition experiences, the “Prairie Potluck” theme brings the pioneer spirit to life — and these tours have been selling out quickly, so early tickets are strongly encouraged. Part of Westminster’s milestone 250/150/115 anniversary celebration series.

Movies in the Park: Goat 🎬

Westminster wraps up its 2026 Movies in the Park series with Goat under the stars at the scenic Legacy Ridge Golf Course — one of the most beautiful outdoor screening backdrops in the north metro. Live music and pre-show activities get rolling at 6:30 PM, with food concessions on hand before the film begins at dusk. Admission is completely free; just bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the last outdoor movie night of the summer. Presented by Intermountain Health with support from Central Bank and Yogurt Brothers.

Butterfly Pavilion: Sensory Friendly Afternoon 🦋

Butterfly Pavilion — one of Westminster’s most beloved family destinations and the world’s first stand-alone invertebrate zoo — opens its August Sensory Friendly day with natural lighting, quiet tones, limited admission, and a dedicated Quiet Room for guests who need a low-stimulation space to recharge. All exhibits are open, including the stunning Wings of the Tropics conservatory with 1,600+ free-flying butterflies, interactive tide pools, and the chance to hold Rosie the tarantula. General admission applies; timed entry tickets should be reserved in advance online.

Summer Sounds Concert: Crazy Diamonds at Aerostat Park 🌄

Westminster’s free Summer Sounds Concert Series continues at the brand-new Aerostat Park with Crazy Diamonds, a Pink Floyd tribute act known for immersive, high-fidelity performances that transport audiences straight to the classic album era. While you listen, community artists will be painting mini murals live on site — and you’re invited to create your own balloon-themed artwork alongside them. Spread out a blanket, bring your crew, and let the summer evening take care of the rest.

Aerostat Park Sunday Yoga & Orchard Farmers Market 🍇

Bring your four-legged best friend to one of Westminster’s most fun late-summer gatherings — Yappy Hour at Orchard Town Center, where dogs, humans, and community arts collide in the best possible way. While you mingle with neighbors and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere, local artists will guide attendees in creating dog paw mosaic art pieces to take home as a keepsake of the evening. A signature end-of-summer social hosted by the North Metro Arts Alliance in partnership with the City of Westminster.
